"It's a real soundtrack...hip-hop, R&B, on top of the sh-- I'm known for," said Messy Marv of the new release. "It's the kind of music that speaks to everyone, not just the West Coast -- an all around album, not your regular compilation. There is a variety of music on there for everybody."
The album boasts an all-star line-up of Bay Area artists including E-40, B-Legit, Keak Da Sneak, Mistah F.A.B., Dem Hoodstarz, C-Bo, Tony Toni Tone, Los Angeles' Kurupt, as well as a host of new acts.

"I was locked up, came out and wanted to do something positive and wanted to show the masses there's a lot more going on in the streets in the Bay Area aside from the Hyphy movement," explains Messy Marv.
Messy Marv is a veteran in the Bay Area with 13 independent albums under his belt, including underground classics like Turf Politics, Disobayish, and his last release, Bandannas, Tattoos And Tongue Rings.
SMC, Messy's new partner, reveals their confidence in the indie rapper, saying they feel that the rapper will be a force to be reckoned with in not only the West Coast, but across the nation.
"Messy Marv is a testament of true independence," said Will Bronson, co-owner of SMC Recordings. "Scalen LLC has sold over 150,000 copies without a major. He was our first artist during the pre-SMC days and he's put together some of the company's favorite records. We're proud to be a part of the albums he's getting ready to drop and helping build Scalen LLC's future."
Draped Up And Chipped Out, the album and DVD, are expected to drop this Fall.
