News: Beyonce Took 'People Kissing Classes' For 'Dreamgirls'
Beyonce learned pretty quickly that kissing your real life boyfriend is quite different than locking lips with a co-star as a movie character, as there is lighting, camera angles and decisions on tongue placement that inevitably come into play. The "Dreamgirls" star admits she was a bit lost on the day she had to shoot a kissing scene with her co-star, Jamie Foxx.
"I'm a singer/songwriter, that's what I did first - I didn't start out going to acting classes and people-kissing classes. So that's all still new to me," Beyonce said, according to Ananova.
The big kiss occurs between her character, rags-to-riches singer Deena Jones, and Deena's shady manager Curtis Taylor Jr., played by Foxx. Beyonce said she had to get a quick tutorial from her acting coach on the particulars of making a screen kiss work.
"That's all still new to me. Working with my acting coach made it easier," she said. "I just thought it was necessary for the character, we have to establish that they're married."
So, how did the kiss go?
"Jamie was very professional, it was quick, and you know, it is what it is," she said.
In other Beyonce minutiae, the New York Post is reporting that her real life smooch partner Jay-Z will join her on stage to perform their single "Deja-Vu" at the Conde Nast Media Group's "Fashion Rocks," to be held Sept. 6 at Radio City Music Hall.
