News: Bud Billiken Parade Turns Into New Joc City
If evidence ever existed of Yung Joc's Elvis-like popularity, it was witnessed at the Bud Billiken Day Parade this past weekend in Chicago. Before the rapper even appeared on the scene, the day had seen numerous young people - and even grown members of a local fire department - break into the rapper's patented motorcycle dance whenever contemporary music was played. So you can imagine what happened when Joc himself showed up on one of the floats.
According to Power 92 morning show co-host Kendra G, "all hell broke loose."
"People were running into the parade by the hundreds just to wave and get a closer look at Yung Joc," she said, adding that the artist was a special guest on Power 92's float. "Girls were crying when he would wave back to them or pretend like he was taking a picture of them with his camera phone. It got so bad, at one point police had to walk along Power 92's float in order to try to back away the crowd."
Kendra G said the mania "was so uncontrollable that about 75% into the parade, Yung Joc had to get off the float."
And then hell broke loose all over again.
"When Yung Joc initially got off Power 92's float he was placed on a golf cart," Kendra said. "The crowd immediately spotted him and more people ran into the parade. ...Within a matter of moments, Yung Joc's security whisked him up and placed him into one of the Power 92's SUVs and [he] was driven away." www.eurweb.com
