News: DMX arrested at Heathrow

US hip hop star turned Hollywood actor DMX has accepted a police caution after he was arrested at Heathrow airport for abusing cabin crew.

The 35-year-old, who shot to fame as a rapper with street anthem 'Get At Me Dog', apparently refused to do up his seat belt properly as his plane made its final approach and then launched into a tirade.

DMX has been arrested at Heathrow Airport for verbally abusing the cabin crew on a flight into England. DMX, real name Earl Simmons, refused to buckle his seat belt as the plane descended to land, according to police. Once the plane had landed the rapper reportedly began to speak abusively to the aircraft cabin crew.

Despite a number of previous convictions and serving jail time in the US, police let DMX go with a caution.

The captain of the American Airlines flight from New York's JFK airport alerted police and DMX - real name Earl Simmons - was arrested once the plane had landed at around 12.15pm on Saturday.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "Heathrow Police were called at 12.05pm on Saturday to reports of a passenger causing a disturbance on an inbound aircraft.

"The plane landed at approximately 12.15pm and a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being verbally abusive to cabin crew.

"He was taken to the police station and later released with a caution."

It is not the first time DMX, who starred in movies 'Romeo Must Die', 'Exit Wounds' and 'Cradle 2 The Grave' has had a run-in with the law.

In 2004, he was charged with possession of crack cocaine and criminal impersonation of a federal agent after a road rage incident at JFK.

In 2003, he was arrested for swearing during a concert in the Caribbean islands of St Kitts and Nevis.

A year earlier, he was fined $15,000 after he admitted animal cruelty, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.

And in May 1998 he was accused of raping a stripper in the Bronx but was later cleared by DNA evidence.
