News: Eminem Signs On For His Second Movie Role

Eminem Signs On For His Second Movie Role
After recovering from the loss of his best friend Proof, Eminem is gearing up for his second movie role in a remake of the 1950s TV drama "Gave Gun - Will Travel," according to Variety magazine.

Em will play the role of Paladin, a professional gunfighter for hire, moving away from the music angle that he played in the role of Rabbit in "8 Mile," which was loosely based on his own life.

In the original "Have Gun - Will Travel" - that ran from 1957-1963 - Richard Bone played Paladin, a guy that hung around a San Francisco hotel waiting for people to respond to the offer on his business card, which read "Have Gun, Will Travel ... wire Paladin, San Francisco."

According to Variety, the film's concept will be revamped and slightly different. It will be updated to contemporary times and Em's character would possibly be based out of Detroit, instead of San Francisco.

Paul Rosenberg, Em's manager, said that the film will have some characters based loosely on ones from the series and a few references to storylines from the original. And Em will most likely be involved in either scoring the film or performing on the soundtrack.

"When this property essentially became available we discussed it and brought it to Marshall and he was very intrigued and excited about the concept," Rosenberg said.

There is no definitely timeframe for when the film will begin or wrap, but it will be produced by Interscope/ Shady/ Aftermath Films, with producer credits going to Interscope head Jimmy Iovine and the rapper's manager Paul Rosenberg.
