News: Fat Joe To Haul Concerts Overseas
Fat Joe is so excited about the release of his upcoming seventh solo album, "Me Myself & I," that he has decided to get on an airplane, despite a lifelong fear of flying, and perform a string of concert dates in Europe. "This tour has been something I've wanted to do for years. I'm so glad I've found peace with flying and am able to finally hit the overseas market," Joe said in a statement. "This will definitely be the first of many European trips for me. I'm excited to finally see all my fans overseas that have supported my hip-hop career over the past 14 years."
Fat Joe began taking baby steps to conquer his phobia two years ago by flying on private jets. Since then he has become comfortable flying on commercial airlines, which has opened up a host of other opportunities for the Bronx-born rapper - among them, serving as a guest host for Europe's version of "Pimp My Ride." He taped episodes earlier this year in Amsterdam, Poland and England.
The MC's tour in support of "Me Myself & I," due in stores this fall, will roll through stops in Switzerland, France, Germany, the UK and Spain.
"This album is really my most up close and personal you've ever heard," Joe says. "I'm showing all sides and letting fans really get to know who I truly am. Lyrically I'm showing my vulnerable and gangster sides."
The first single, "Clap & Revolve," was produced by The Runners and has already been added into rotation on WKYS in Washington, D.C. and on 99 JAMZ in Miami. Other collaborations on the album include The Game, Lil Wayne and production from Scott Storch.
"One of the most personal songs on the album is 'Maria' which I dedicated to my mother," Joe says. "I was able to open up and talk about very personal events in my life that I haven't been able to put into my rhymes before."
