News: 'Idlewild' of OutKast

'Idlewild' of OutKast
Although Andre 3000 has gone out of his way to dispel rumors that OutKast is splitting, the soundtrack to its film 'Idlewild' doesn`t do much to support the pioneering hip-hop duo`s unity.

As on 'Speakerboxxx/The Love Below,' Andre and Big Boi do their own thing without one another on most tracks, and film-specific songs like "Make No Sense at All" and "Call the Law" fall flat out of context. But they're together on "Hollywood Divorce," featuring Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne, where the posse discusses pop culture's ethnic art appropriation atop a melancholy beat.

Still, it`s hard not to be disheartened by Big Boi's "The Train," featuring Sleepy Brown and newcomer Scar, which finds him recounting OutKast`s entire career. We're not saying the divorce is final, but you be the judge.

'Idlewild' is now available at Amazon. Visit the music database for more information and a complete track listing. Visit the movie database for more information on the upcoming film.

The highly anticipated new album from Outkast is titled "Idlewild" and is soon to be released! But lucky for you guys, MTV's The Leak has the full album for you to listen to right now! Enjoy!

"Idlewild" is the new album from the whole world's favourite rap-duo Outkast. They've come a long way from their debut release in the mid 90's when their album sold 1 million copies. Their sixth album "Speakerboxx/The Love Below" sold over 11 million copies which goes to show that Outkast is a band to count on.

The new record is the soundtrack from or, if you wish, the music inspired by the movie with the same name which features Big Boi and Andr? 3000 in the leading roles. Idlewild is a fictional city in Georgia but apparently there used to be a city called Idlewild in Michigan in the 1930's and 40's and was like the Hamptons is today but for Black people. The record is clearly inspired by the jazzy mood of the 30's and 40's but with that special touch which is Outkast.

On the album they have invited singers and rappers such as Sleepy Brown, Scar, Snoop Dogg, Lil' Wayne, Macy Gray and others.
