News: Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris Host Russell Simmons' ATL Hip-Hop Summit

Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris Host Russell Simmons' ATL Hip-Hop Summit
Atlanta's hip-hop community is coming together for a just cause on September 16 -- to educate young people about the importance of personal finance.

With the help of Russell Simmons and his Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN), hip-hop stars like Young Jeezy, Bobby Valentino, Paul Wall, Remy Man, Chingo Bling and DJ Drama will speak on the grounds of the historic black college, Morris Brown College, about financial empowerment, with Ludacris and Jermaine Dupri playing hosts.

"Joining with Jermaine Dupri and Ludacris to host the Atlanta Hip-Hop Summit is a special blessing," said Russell Simmons. "This city is known for its great contributions to hip-hop, as well as being a center for social change in our nation and world. 'Get Your Money Right' is an opportunity for the core of our demographic -- 18-35 year olds -- to gain invaluable information on financial empowerment."

"I'm a firm supporter of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network. I'm just trying to do my part in giving back and educating our youth on important issues in the community," added Ludacris.

HSAN's partners include Chrysler Financial, the title sponsor, and Anheuser-Busch, Inc., the presenting sponsor. The Hip-Hop Summit is now in its second successful year, bringing together the combination of hip-hop stars and Chrysler Financial experts to speak to students and community members about the importance of financial literacy.

The topics to be covered include the basics of banking, home ownership, repairing bad credit and understanding credit scores, entrepreneurship, and vehicle financing to name a few. With the title, "Get Your Money Right," the HSAN has go on a national tour with stops in three additional cities, including September 30 in Los Angeles, October 14 in Dallas and October 28 in Toronto, Canada.

The "Get Your Money Right" workbook, which will be given to all participants, is available in both English and Spanish.
