News: Jim Jones Prepping Third Solo Album
Dipset Capo Jim Jones is preparing for the release of his third album, Hustler's P.O.M.E. (Product of My Environment). The album -- coming out through Koch/Diplomats Records -- will follow-up last year's Harlem: Diary Of A Summer, which debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 Chart.
Jones calls the music on his "powerful" and describes it as a depiction of hustlers in the hood trying to come up.
"I named the album Hustler's P.O.M.E. because it's just my definition of being a hustler," said Jim Jones. "When you are coming up on the streets, you got to hustle to survive or else you'll be left out in this cold world. That's all we got and that's what my music depicts. It depicts stories of everybody comin' up. Sometime it's hopeless, but you got to stay focused. I know we all got felonies and can't get no jobs, so we on the street corners doing the daily, and that's what we call hustlin'."
The first single is "We Fly High," which is beginning to gain steam on New York radio, while the video -- co-directed by Dale Restighini (aka RAGE) and Jim Jones -- has premiered on MTV's "Unleashed" and is expected to premier on BET's "106 & Park" Friday (September 15).
Album features include Juelz Santana, Cam'ron, Max B, Hell Rell, Stack Bundles and Lil' Wayne, among others.
It is slated for release November 7.
In addition to music, the rapper currently holds the position of Director of A&R at Warner Music Group, and recently signed a deal for his own label imprint, Byrdgang Records through Asylum Records. To date, Jones has sold a combined 600,000 of his first two solo releases: On My Way To Church and Harlem: Diary Of A Summer. www.ballerstatus.net
