Lil' Kim To Perform At VH1's Hip-Hop Honors
Lil' Kim will is set to perform next month VH1's Hip-Hop Honors, her first performance since being released from prison in July.

The rapper's performance will be a tribute to one of her idols, the legendary MC Lyte.

"MC Lyte is at the top of the list when you talk about hip-hop pioneers," Lil' Kim said via a statement. "She paved the way for myself and any of today's greatest MCs. I'm honored to have the opportunity to show my respect and how she influenced me."

Kim is said to perform "Lyte as a Rock." In addition to Kim, rappers such as Ludacris, Diddy, Da Brat, Lil' Jon, Fat Joe and Outkast will also be in attendance, and will also pay homage to pioneers before them.

MC Lyte, known for a string of hits in the 90's such as like "Lyte as a Rock," "Poor Georgie" and "Ruffneck," is being honored along with Ice Cube, the Wu-Tang Clan, Afrika Bambaataa, hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, Rakim, Beastie Boys and the late Eazy E during the October 7 New York show.

Since Kim's release on July 3, she has been hard at work, working on new business deals, as well as looking for a new record contract.

She's also made several public appearances including MTV VMA's, where she poked fun at her incarceration by wearing an orange jumpsuit.

VH1's Hip-Hop Honors are slated to air October 17.
