News: Ludacris Raises Funds While Raising The Roof
Rapper Ludacris is raising more than the roof these days. The hip-hop artists and actor raised funds for his Ludacris Foundation over the weekend. The non-profit organization raised over $25,000 during a four-day trek in Los Angeles and Miami.
First, the star took home the Best Exterior trophy at the GM Auto Fashion Show in Los Angeles for his 1967 green Chevy Bel-Air, while hanging with the likes of Shaquille O'Neal and Nick Cannon; then participating in a Vanity Fair photo shoot in Pasadena with "Grey's Anatomy" star Kathrine Heigl and Troy Garrity of "Barbershop"; then Luda headed to Miami to play at Alonzo Mourning's "Zo's Summer Groove."
In all this, the rapper's foundation received much promotion and a sizeable donation.
"This weekend just came together with all of these great opportunities for the foundation that I had to take a break and hit the town," he said. "I've been focused for the past few months on just getting everything done and this turned out to be a nice break with a good purpose. Now it's back to the studio and work!"
The rapper referred to his upcoming disc, "Release Therapy," which is expected to hit stores on September 26, followed up by the Vanity Fair issue hitting stands in late November.
