News: Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri Clean Up '06 Billboard Awards

Among the categories, Mariah took home honors for top R&B/hip-hop artist, top female R&B/hip-hop artist, hot R&B/hip-hop songs artist, and top R&B/hip-hop albums artist. And her album was named top R&B/hip-hop album.

Coming in after the songbird was Kanye West, who scored wins in the top rap album category for Late Registration and hot rap track for "Gold Digger" featuring Jamie Foxx.

Foxx was named top male R&B/hip-hop artist, while Young Jeezy was awarded top new R&B/hip-hop artist.

Jermaine Dupri received first ever Otis Redding Excellence Award for his achievements both in and outside the studio, on top of scoring wins for top R&B/hip-hop songwriter and top R&B/hip-hop producer.

The Otis Redding award was launched this year, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the singer's death in a 1967 plane crash.

The legendary Public Enemy also enjoyed a win at the awards ceremony when they received the 2006 Hip-Hop Founders Awards for their long-standing influence within the culture.
