News: Mr. Long Releases Album For Streaming

Mr. Long Releases Album For Streaming
He was previously known as Mista Lawnge, departed from the group to pursue his talents as a solo artist, releasing The Class Of '89 in 2006.

On the album, Long set out to make a strong statement about the recent trends in hip-hop music. He felt compelled to return to the music scene because he believes that without strong intervention, today's hip-hop music will continue on an unproductive course, believing that the new generation has promise beyond violence, drugs and materialism, the subject matter so prevalent in today's popular expression.

Now after more than 15 years since his debut with Black Sheep in '91 he is Mr. Long and ready for the new release. The veteran rapper wants his message to reach his fans, so he has made the album available for streaming on his page.
"The commercial light for the past 12 years has been on rap music," Mr. Long explains. "Let's get back to hip-hop!"

As a part of Black Sheep, Long enjoyed success with the 1991 release of A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing, which charted three times on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Plan, because of singles like "The Choice is Yours" and "Strobelite Honey."

Since then, Mr. Long has taken the past decade to reflect on his career, looking to New York's toughest streets to mentor up-and-coming artists. All the while, he has maintained a steady connection to his roots as a hip-hop artist, doing select club dates and national tours with Black Sheep.
