News: NYC Prepares For MTV's VMA's
MTV hopes to put music fans under its spell with another edition of the VMA's. And artists like Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Missy Elliot and T.I., among others will be in attendance.
The festivities will kick-off on August 29 in Battery Park, where artists like Rihanna and Chamillionaire will ascend the stage. The following day, August 30, the music industry will join forces to wage war against AIDS, reaching out to the youth with the message of AIDS prevention.
On Thursday (August 31), the ceremony, which will be hosted by actor Jack Black, will be underway.
The show will feature performances by Pharrell, Ludacris, Beyonce and T.I., as well as pop stars like Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
MTV wouldn't be MTV if there was not more in store than just a star studded line-up. The organization has teamed up with a long list of hot spots throughout the city, including Jay-Z's trendy 40/40 club, and made available $250.000 VMA Metro Cards to transport New Yorkers to the venue.
The music channel has also created very limited edition batch of t-shirts featuring custom art using the lyrics from Video Of The Year Nominees' and Performers' songs including: Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Shakira and T.I. These t-shirts will be distributed to fans around VMA Week events in NYC including the VMA Kickoff Concert and at the city hot spots leading up the VMA's.
