News: Papoose Inks Million Dollar Deal With Jive Records
An emcee with one of the biggest buzzes in New York has finally inked a deal -- Papoose. The rapper has inked a deal with Jive Records, for a reported $1.5 million.
According to an announcement posted on his management Violator's website, the deal is official, but no further specifics were mentioned. The deal ends months of speculation as to where the mixtape phenom would sign with.
The $1.5 million dollar figure has been mentioned by the rapper's mentor, Kay Slay, for weeks. And further fueled rumors, by releasing a mixtape entitled The 1.5 Million Dollar Man.
In 2005, Papoose won "Best Underground Artist on a Mixtape" honors during Justo's Mixtape Awards, which etched his name into the minds of many industry folk. His stock went up even further when Busta Rhymes called on the NY native for the "Touch It (Remix)" early this year.
The rapper is currently working on his debut album, Nacirema Dream.
