News: R. Kelly To Release Live Concert DVD
While awaiting trial on child pornography charges, R. Kelly and Jive Records have inked an exclusive worldwide distribution deal with Image Entertainment for the singer/producer's first live concert DVD, which was filmed in high definition last March at Oakland, Calif.'s Paramount Theatre.
In addition to the concert footage, the DVD will include behind-the-scenes material and a "rare up-close-and-personal look at the R&B superstar."
Kelly said in a statement: "I appreciate my fans for supporting me and giving me the chance to live my dreams and share my songs with them throughout my whole career. This is my first concert DVD and I'm so proud to be able to bring the world a new classic."
Produced by Ann Carli and directed by Jim Swaffield, the same team that did R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet" DVD, the disc is expected to be released in the first quarter of calendar 2007.
