News: Rev. Run's Daughter Dies at Birth
According to latest news the rapper's wife Justine gave birth to a baby girl at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ Tuesday September 26th. Doctors delivered the baby via c-section only to discover she was born with her organs on the outside of her body. The newborn was pronounced dead soon after her birth.
They say that MTV cameras were at the hospital at the time of the birth, however it has not been determined whether they were present in the delivery room.
Since the premiere of "Run's House" in 2005, the show, which features the spiritually centered rapper alongside his wife and five children, quickly won over audiences, prompting MTV to sign them on for a second season. Justine's pregnancy was a regularly featured element of season two of "Run's House."
Simmons issued a statement through the network, which airs his reality show, Run's House, saying his wife "is doing fine." He thanked his supporters for their prayers and condolences.
"On Sept. 26, 2006, Victoria Anne Simmons for some unknown reason chose to come early and unfortunately did not survive," his statement said. "We must accept whatever is there and once you accept unconditionally, then everything is beautiful. Every pain has a purifying effect. So whatever comes your way, just be thankful. We see life in death and believe in the celebration of life in death."
Simmons, brother of hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, has five children. He was a founding member of pioneering rap group Run-DMC.
