News: Snoop And Diddy Cancel Uk Tour Due To Visa Denial
Following on from Snoop's run ins with UK law, the One Love Peace Tour featuring Snoop Dogg and Diddy has been forced into cancellation.
The reason for the cancellation surround Snoop's last major altrication at Heathrow Airport, London in April 2006 where the rapper was banned from entering UK territory. This again, infuriated fans looking to attend the star's concert, within the UK.
"Diddy and Snoop were incredibly disappointed and devastated by the news," a spokesperson for both hip hop artists claimed in a statement. "They really did not want to let fans down this way as the UK was a planned highlight of the tour. However, this ultimately was a situation out of their control."
Ticket holders have been instructed to agree a refund with their original distributor.
Sean "Diddy" Combs has promised to perform a free concert in the UK after the country's Foreign & Commonwealth Office denied a visa to co-headliner Snoop Dogg, which forced the cancellation of five UK dates.
According to Contact Music, Diddy announced plans to stage a free performance in association with London radio station Choice FM to try and make amends.
Meanwhile, Snoop says he remains hopeful that British authorities will someday acknowledge his attempts to spread a "message of love and harmony."
"I was shocked by the decision but am optimistic that the British authorities will soon realize my global efforts to promote peace and grant me the opportunity to come back for my fans," the rapper said Wednesday during an interview for the documentary "In Prison My Whole Life."
The film, produced by actor Colin Firth, chronicles death row inmate Mumia Au Jamal. The interview with Snoop was scheduled to occur in London, but instead took place in Amsterdam after Snoop's British visa was denied.
