News: Snoop Dogg Continues West Coast Crusade With Blue Carpet Treatment
Snoop Dogg held a West Coast peace summit in April of 2005, and although it seemed liked it didn't do much to unite the West, the rapper continues to pledge his allegiance for the West Coast.
Snoop brought together a slew of rappers for the Dogg Pound's "Cali Iz Active" video, and is doing the same for his upcoming Koch album, titled Blue Carpet Treatment.
One of the first tracks leaked from the album was the street single, "Vato," featuring Pharrell Williams and Cypress Hill's B-Real, which was also recently remixed, adding on a verse from West Coast female emcee Diamonique, among others.
"I got a couple of other ese rappers that's on there, so we can put that Black and Brown together out here," Snoop Dogg told Dubcnn.com in a recent interview. "I keep telling n----s when you trying to put the West Coast together, it ain't just Bloods and Crips. You gotta get the Mexicans too. If you don't have them, it's not gonna be right."
On top of guest spots from some of Cali's Latin artists, Snoop put in calls to a large number of Cali-bred emcees to help spark the unity that has been missing for years.
Not only will Blue Carpet Treatment feature guest spots from heavyweights like Game, Ice Cube, E-40 and the Dogg Pound. But, it will also sheds some light on some of the often forgotten vets that continue to tear up the streets, including Sacramento's Brotha Lynch Hung, Compton's MC Eiht, Too Short, Goldie Loc and Kam, among others.
"Man that motherf---er is West the f---," the rapper told Dubcnn.
The rapper also recently said that he is finished beefing with any rapper from the West Coast. He's just deaded a long running with San Diego rapper Jayo Felony and many others that he hasn't spoken to in a while.
"Anything from the West, I ain't clashing with you," Snoop said to Dubcnn. "I'd rather roll with you my n----. It ain't that I'm scared of you...somebody just gotta be the bigger fish in the situation, and really make the sh-- what it's supposed to be."
Snoop has just leaked a track called "My Peoples" to the internet, where -- on the song -- the rapper shoutouts a ton of Cali rappers from Murs, 2Mex and Xzibit to new comers like Glasses Malone, Scipio and Omar Cruz, among others.
Blue Carpet Treatment will feature production from Rick Rock, Timbaland and Pharrell to name a few. And is slated for release October 17.
Following the album is the release of "The Adventures of The Blue Carpet Treatment" animated DVD in November and a new full-length album/soundtrack for his movie "A Woman's Touch" in February. In related news, Snoop has revealed that he may be appointed as the CEO of Koch Records West. And extended his hand to any rapper looking for a deal. "It ain't even no Koch West out here, so you know what that means? I'm getting everything from the motherf---in' West -- Brotha Lynch, B-Real, Xzibit, f---in' whoever needs a motherf---in' deal coming straight through me. And I'm putting that sh-- out," Snoop revealed to Dubcnn. www.ballerstatus.net
