News: Snoop Dogg, Tyrese To Encourage L.A. To 'Get Their Money Right'

The Hip-Hop Summit's national tour on Financial Empowerment, appropriately titled "Get Your Money Right," is now in its second successful year, bringing together a powerful combination of hip-hop stars and Chrysler Financial (HSAN's title sponsor and partner) to speak to students and community members about the importance of financial literacy.

The topics covered over the two-hour summit include the basics of banking, home ownership, repairing bad credit and understanding credit scores, entrepreneurship, vehicle financing and more.

"Hip-hop on the West Coast is as strong as ever," said Dr. Chavis, HSAN's President/CEO. "The Los Angeles Hip-Hop summit focuses on the opportunities to better understand the importance of financial literacy and empowerment. We will celebrate all of the good work being done throughout the city by many grass roots organizations, as well as pay tribute to the growth and expansion of hip-hop culture throughout Los Angeles."

Keeping it true to the roots of Southern Cali, HSAN has also brought in a diverse panel of speakers including Latino rappers and celebs like Kid Frost and Chingo Bling.

"The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network recognizes the significant contributions made by Latinos to hip-hop as a culture," affirmed Jasmin Franjul, Director, Artist and Diversity Relations, HSAN. "We are excited to have Kid Frost, Chingo Bling, Jessy and Ulysses Terrero joining us in our mission to empower young people at the 'Get Your Money Right' Hip Hop Summit in Los Angeles."

Others slated to speak include Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, MC Lyte, Melyssa Ford, Yo-Yo and Lamar Odom, among others.
