News: Whitney Files For Divorce From Bobby

Whitney Files For Divorce From Bobby
There's only so much drama one marriage can take. After 14 years that saw ups, downs, drugs, incarceration and alleged philandering, Whitney Houston has finally had enough of her husband Bobby Brown and has filed for a separation, reports TMZ.com.

Houston's rep Nancy Seltzer reportedly confirmed the split to the website, adding that filing for a separation is just a "legal technicality" on the way to divorce. Seltzer was mum on any further details, including where or when the filings were made.

So where does Karrine "Superhead" Steffans stand in all of this mess? According to TMZ the self-proclaimed "Video Vixen" is a major catalyst in Whitney and Bobby's separation. A source tells the Web site that Brown stays at Steffans' L.A. home "frequently," where he often flees for moral and financial support - including the maintenance of his pre-paid cell phone.

The TMZ source also insisted that Steffans and Brown are not romantically involved, and that haters are pushing the idea of a sexual relationship because of her past. Steffans also swears their relationship is not sexual, telling New York Daily News' Lloyd Grove that she and Bobby have "a really tricky situation."

Houston, who shares daughter Bobbi Kristina with Brown, was seen Tuesday night with producer Clive Davis at the 15th Annual Ella Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. As previously reported, Davis recently said that he and Whitney are currently choosing songs for her impending comeback album.

There's only so much drama one marriage can take. After 14 years that saw ups, downs, drugs, incarceration and alleged philandering, Whitney Houston has finally had enough of her husband Bobby Brown.

"I can just confirm that she has filed for divorce," Houston's rep Nancy Seltzer told TMZ on Wednesday. However, Houston's filing in Orange County Superior Court last Friday called for a legal separation due to irreconcilable differences, reports the Associated Press. Brown was on served Tuesday.

"It is a legal separation. It is not a divorce or a divorce petition," explained Phaedra Parks, an entertainment lawyer in Atlanta who represents Brown.

Houston is seeking custody of their 13-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, and that Brown be allowed visitation rights. She asked that decisions about their Atlanta-area house and other property rights be determined later.

So where does Bobby's rumored chick-on-the-side Karrine "Superhead" Steffans stand in all of this mess? According to TMZ.com, the self-proclaimed "Video Vixen" is a major catalyst in Whitney and Bobby's separation.

Steffans also swears their relationship is not sexual, telling New York Daily News' Lloyd Grove that she and Bobby have "a really tricky situation." Meanwhile, Houston has retained high powered divorce attorney Stephen Kolodny to represent her.

Houston, meanwhile, was seen Tuesday night looking pretty happy, healthy and sober at the 15th Annual Ella Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Her date was producer Clive Davis, who recently announced that he and Whitney are currently working on her comeback album.
